Tree planting to combat climate change and enhance food and nutrition securities
About Us
Treebies Green Foundation is a local NGO founded by Mr. Jordan Otim in 2024. The idea came from a passion for nature and a drive to contribute to impactful climate action through tree-planting initiatives, and climate-smart Agriculture. Its core ambition is to train a diverse array of young people across different schools and communities in Uganda with an emphasis on youths, by instilling the values of integrating tree planting, Agroforestry, forestry, and nature conservation strategies in our daily life as a way of contributing collectively to the global need to combat climate change (SDG13). The name Treebies Green Foundation was born on 11th.01.2024 at 1:00 am, the meaning behind it is that we love trees and our hobby lies in planting as many trees as possible, hence, Treebies. The star icon represents our environmental heroes who fought for a better environment. The symbol in a special way, reminds me of my grandfather Josefu Lagwok a World War II veteran who also served in the earlier years at the present-day Kalongo mission. His relentless passion for nature contributed to several unique fruit tree species that the current local community enjoys. We intend to and commit to fostering that legacy.
